This Privacy Policy is available in English. It applies to every language version of AI-4Kids.
1. The short version
- AI-4Kids is made for children ages 5 to 10 and the parents and guardians who sign them up.
- Accounts are opened by a parent or legal guardian, never by a child. We confirm the parent's email address before a child's profile becomes active.
- For each child we keep only a nickname and an age group, plus learning progress. We never ask a child for a real name, email address, phone number, photo, school or home address.
- There are no ads, no chat, no public profiles and no third-party trackers on AI-4Kids.
- We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use children's information for advertising.
- Parents can review, correct or delete their family's information and withdraw consent at any time.
2. Who we are and how to reach us
AI-4Kids (the "Service") is operated by:
PREPARLY LLC1401 Sawgrass Parkway
Sunrise, FL 33323, United States
Phone: (954) 326-5379
Email: info@preparly.com
In this policy, "AI-4Kids," "we," "us" and "our" mean that operator. "Parent" means a parent or legal guardian. "Child" or "kid" means a user under 13. No other company operates the Service or collects children's information through it on our behalf, other than the service providers listed in section 7, which act only on our instructions.
AI-4Kids is part of the AIPlayBase family of learning experiences. If a future AIPlayBase service handles your account, we will tell you before any information moves and this policy, or one that protects your family at least as well, will apply.
3. What this policy covers
This policy covers ai-4kids.com and every page, game, class and tool on it: the free games, the video classes, Creator Studio, the parent console, the pre-registration and waitlist forms, and the emails we send. It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It follows the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Federal Trade Commission's COPPA Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 312), and the CAN-SPAM Act for our emails.
The Service is not meant for teens or adults on their own. If you are under 13, please ask your parent to read this with you.
4. Information we collect
4.1 From parents
When a parent pre-registers, joins the waitlist, opens a free family account from a game or signs in, we may collect:
- Contact details: first name, last name and email address.
- Family details: U.S. state (optional), preferred language, and whether you are interested in paying with a Florida scholarship (Step Up For Students PEP).
- Your children's profiles: the nickname and age group (5-7 or 8-10) you give for each child.
- Invitations: the email address of another parent or guardian you choose to invite. We use it only to send that invitation and to link their account to your family.
- Consent records: the date and time you agreed, the form you used, the wording you saw, the version of this policy, and a one-way coded value derived from your IP address (we do not store the IP address itself).
- Payments (when paid plans open): your plan and billing history. Card details are entered on our payment processor's page and are never stored by us.
- Messages you send us, such as privacy or support requests.
4.2 From children
Children can play, watch classes and create without telling us who they are. Depending on what they use, we may collect:
- Nickname and age group, when a parent adds them to a family account. We ask parents to choose a nickname that is not the child's full name.
- Learning activity: lessons and games completed, levels, badges and certificates earned, and time played. When a child is not signed in, this stays on the device (see section 14).
- What a child types or says in Creator Studio to describe a game (see section 8).
We do not ask children for, and design our tools to avoid collecting, real names, email addresses, phone numbers, home or school addresses, photos, video, precise location or any contact information. Creator Studio blocks messages that look like personal details, such as an email address, a phone number, or phrases like "my name is" or "I live at," before they leave the device. We never require a child to share more information than an activity needs to work.
4.3 Collected automatically
- Technical data needed to run the site: our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the page requested, as every website does, to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We use this only for the internal operation and security of the Service.
- Anonymous usage counts: for example, how many times the family-account prompt was shown in a game. These counts contain no name, email, IP address or device identifier.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, social media plug-ins, behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking.
5. How we use information
We use information only to:
- Provide the Service: run games, classes and Creator Studio, save progress, and issue badges and certificates.
- Open and manage family accounts, confirm a parent's email, and let a parent manage their kids and invite another parent.
- Send the emails described in section 9.
- Process payments when paid plans open.
- Keep the Service safe, secure and working, and meet legal obligations.
- Understand, in aggregate, which activities families use so we can improve them.
We do not sell or rent personal information, use children's information for targeted or behavioral advertising, build profiles of children for commercial purposes, or use children's information to train artificial intelligence models.
6. Parental consent (COPPA)
Before consent. To ask for your consent, we collect only what we need to contact you: your name and email address, and the nickname and age group you choose to give for your child. We use that only to send the confirmation email, and we delete it if you do not confirm within 30 days.
Waitlist. When you pre-register or join the waitlist, you give us your details and, if you wish, your kids' nicknames and age groups, so we can invite you when family accounts open. No child profile is active, and nothing is collected from a child, until you confirm your email as described below.
How you give consent. On our forms, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you have read this policy. We then email you a confirmation link. Clicking it is your verifiable parental consent, and only then does your family account become active. We may send a follow-up email to confirm. If we offer features in the future that share a child's information with others, we will ask for a stronger form of consent first, as COPPA requires.
What you consent to. You consent to our collection and use of your child's information as described in this policy. We do not disclose children's information to third parties except to the service providers that run the Service for us (section 7). You may consent to our collection and use of your child's information without consenting to any disclosure to third parties that is not needed to run the Service, and we do not make any such disclosures.
Records. We keep a record of each consent and of each time it is withdrawn, including the policy version you agreed to, so that we can show who agreed to what and when.
If we learn a child signed up without a parent, we will delete that information. Please tell us at the email in section 2.
7. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their service to us and require them to keep it secure and confidential:
| Provider | What they do for us | Information involved |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | Website hosting and delivery | Technical data (IP address, browser, pages requested); form submissions in transit |
| Supabase Inc. | Database, parent sign-in and storage of recorded narration | Parent account details, kids' nicknames and age groups, progress, consent records; technical data (IP address, browser) when a narration file plays |
| Resend | Sending our emails | Parent name and email address, email content |
| ElevenLabs | Recording narration in advance from our own scripts | Only our script text (lessons, stories, characters' lines). No information about a child or parent is sent |
| Anthropic, PBC | The AI model behind Creator Studio | The game description a child types or says, and the current game settings. No name, email or account identifier is sent |
| Stripe, Inc. (when paid plans open) | Payment processing | Parent name, email, billing details entered on Stripe |
| Digital credential provider (when badges open) | Issuing digital badges | Parent name and email address, badge earned |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the safety of a child or others. If AI-4Kids is ever reorganized, merged or sold, information may transfer to the new operator only if it agrees to honor this policy, and we will notify parents first.
8. Creator Studio, AI and voice
In Creator Studio, a child describes a game ("a cat catching stars in space") and an AI model fills in a game recipe that our own code then plays. Here is how we protect what kids share:
- Before a message leaves the device, our filter blocks unsafe words and anything that looks like personal details, such as an email address, a phone number, or phrases like "my name is" or "I live at."
- Only the game description and the current game settings are sent to the AI provider. We do not send the child's nickname, account or any identifier.
- The AI is instructed never to ask for or repeat personal details, and everything it returns is checked again before a child sees it.
- We do not store Creator Studio messages on our servers. Games a child makes are saved on the device.
- We use the AI provider's commercial service, which does not use the content we send to train its models.
Voice. Kids can speak instead of type. Voice input uses the speech recognition built into the web browser, not our servers. Some browsers, such as Google Chrome, send the audio to the browser maker (for example, Google) to turn it into text, under that company's own privacy policy. We receive only the resulting text, never the audio. Voice is optional: kids can always type, and parents can turn the microphone off in the browser's site settings.
Narration. Classes, stories and characters are read aloud either by recordings we make in advance or by the voices already on the device. Recordings are made by ElevenLabs from our own scripts before anyone listens to them: only our script text is sent, never information about a child or parent, and we never record or copy anyone's voice. The audio files are stored on and played from our Supabase storage, which receives the usual technical data (such as IP address and browser) when a file plays. When there is no recording for a line, the device's own voice reads it. Nothing a child says or taps in a class is sent to us.
9. Emails we send
We email parents only, never children. We send:
- Account emails: the confirmation link, invitations you ask us to send, sign-in links, receipts and important notices about your account or this policy.
- Helpful and promotional emails, such as tips for your kids, new classes and offers for paid plans, if you agreed to receive them on our form.
Every promotional email identifies AI-4Kids as the sender, has an honest subject line, says when it is an offer, includes our postal mailing address and has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time with that link or by writing to us. We stop promotional emails right away and always within 10 business days, and we never make you pay, log in or give more information to unsubscribe. Account emails may continue while you have an account. We never sell, rent or share email lists.
10. Parents' rights and choices
At any time, a parent may:
- Review the information we have about their child and family, and download a copy.
- Correct it, for example a nickname or age group.
- Delete a child's profile or the whole family account.
- Withdraw consent and refuse further collection or use of their child's information. If you do, we will stop collecting it and delete what we have, which may mean your child can no longer use features that need an account.
- Unsubscribe from promotional emails.
You can do most of this in the parent console under Settings & privacy, or by emailing us at the email address in section 2. To protect your family, we will confirm that a request comes from the child's parent before acting on it, for example by asking you to sign in or reply from the email on the account. We answer requests within 30 days. We will never penalize a family for exercising these rights.
11. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for the shortest time we need it for the purpose it was collected, and then delete it securely. U.S. law does not require us to keep most of this information for any minimum period, so these are the shortest periods that still let the Service work:
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Family accounts opened from a game but never confirmed | Deleted after 30 days |
| Waitlist pre-registrations | Until you open your family account, and deleted after 12 months if you never do |
| Family account, kids' profiles and progress | While the account is in use. Deleted within 30 days of a deletion request, or after 12 months without any parent sign-in or kid activity. We email the parent 30 days before deleting an inactive account |
| Consent records | While the account exists, as evidence of what you agreed to. Deleted with the account |
| Creator Studio messages | Not stored on our servers |
| Email delivery log | 90 days |
| Confirmation and sign-in links | Deleted 7 days after they expire |
| Kids' sign-in sessions | Deleted when they expire |
| Anonymous usage counts | 24 months; they identify no one |
| Payment records (when paid plans open) | Only as long as U.S. tax law requires |
We do not keep children's information indefinitely.
12. How we protect information
We keep a written information security program, appropriate to the sensitivity of children's information, and review it at least once a year. It includes:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) on every page and email link.
- Database access only through our own servers. Browsers never get direct access to family data.
- Role-based access for our team, limited to what each person needs, and an audit log of administrative actions.
- Links in our emails that expire and are stored only in coded (hashed) form.
- Collecting as little as possible in the first place.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your family's information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
13. Safety features for kids
- No chat, messaging, comments or friend lists between users.
- No public profiles. Kids' creations and progress are not posted publicly.
- No advertising of any kind.
- Account forms in the games are behind a grown-up check, so a child does not reach them by accident.
- AI features with kid-safe filters on what goes in and what comes out.
14. Cookies and on-device storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The site saves a few settings in your browser's local storage so it works the way your family left it: chosen language, light or dark theme, game and class progress for kids who are not signed in, games made in Creator Studio, and whether the family-account prompt was already shown. When a parent signs in, the sign-in service keeps a session in the browser. This information stays on the device; clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Because we do not track users across websites, we do not change our practices in response to "Do Not Track" signals; there is no tracking to turn off.
15. Families outside the U.S. and state privacy laws
AI-4Kids is offered worldwide and operated in the United States, so information is processed and stored in the U.S. The protections in this policy apply to every family, wherever they live.
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another place with similar laws, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your information, to receive it in a portable format, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We process information to provide the Service you asked for, on the basis of parental consent, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure.
Residents of California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws have rights to know, access, correct and delete their personal information. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those laws define the terms. To make a request, use the options in section 10.
16. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date and version number. If a change is material, or affects how we collect, use or share children's information, we will email parents before it takes effect and ask for new consent where COPPA requires it. We keep a record of every version.
